Designed and developed in the UK by Omnisonic International Limited, and hand-crafted by top engineers in ournew Portuguese factory and our two Shanghai factories, the Sontronics brand delivers innovative, high-quality professional audio products all of which represent excellent value for money with no compromise.

The brand was launched at the 2005 NAMM Show, and the initial range represented an intense period of research and development, where we worked closely with our engineers and our family of international distribution partners to establish microphones that offer the very best in quality and value.

Since its launch, the brand has grown from strength to strength, and our microphones are now available to musicians, engineers and producers in over 30 countries around the world. New microphones and products have been continually added to the range, most recently the DELTA live ribbon microphone, the CHIMERA and SONORA preamps, the APOLLO X/Y stereo ribbon microphone, the ULTIMA professional audio cables and the new STC-1 Black and STC-2 Black.

All our products are developed under strict laboratory conditions, where their finely tuned performance characteristics are carefully measured and controlled. The microphones, cables and preamps are also individually checked and tested by our in-house engineers before being shipped out from our UK warehouse, so you can be sure that every single product has undergone rigorous scrutiny before it reaches our dealers and our customers.

Sontronics condenser microphones are engineered to deliver a unique, specific sound, so they reproduce an extremely accurate low frequency image with a slight boost around the typical vocal frequencies. Our active ribbon microphones are engineered to deliver a classic ribbon tonality without the impedance problems commonly associated with transformer-based ribbon mics.

Whichever model you choose, you can be assured of a very detailed sound, especially when recording direct to DAWs or via standalone audio interfaces. A strong presence matched to very low self-noise adds up to a sonic quality often only found on microphones that cost many times more.  Most importantly, all of our microphones are developed to produce the Sontronics trademark “smooth high frequency roll-off”, a key factor that sets us apart from the competition.

Our DELTA, SIGMA and APOLLO ribbon microphones have been developed to offer all the smoothness and accuracy of ribbon mics combined with stability and increased sensitivity of an active, phantom-powered circuit. Their look is a mix of modern engineering combined with classic pre-war styling, giving us something unique-looking that gives amazing results.

The motivation behind all our microphones and audio products is to offer the customer something that gives stunning, accurate results at a very affordable price, and through every stage of the process, attention to detail is always paramount. In fact, we are so proud and confident of the quality, longevity and performance of our products that we have introduced a Lifetime Warranty that covers all our microphones
and cables.
