Our gorgeous ribbon microphone offers a vintage vibe in both look and sound
ABOUT SIGMA 2
Our original Sigma was one of the first phantom-powered ribbon microphones in the world. Offering high sensitivity, low self-noise and plug-and-play compatibility with any audio interface, preamp or mixer, Sigma and its V2 successor (released in 2018) have become must-haves in top studios and venues worldwide.
As you’d expect from a ribbon mic, Sigma 2 delivers an intimate, natural reproduction and is beautifully suited to vocals, solo wind and string instruments as well as (if used with care) guitar amps and percussion too.
Used on its own or in pairs, Sigma 2 gives absolutely stunning and perfectly accurate results that you will fall in love with!
SIGMA 2 HIGHLIGHTS
"I'm so impressed by how Sigma 2 sounds and it's an excellent all-round instrument microphone. If you were looking to add just one ribbon mic to your collection, then Sigma 2 is the ideal option."
Neil Rogers, Producer/Reviewer
Hand-built at Sontronics HQ in the south of England, Sigma 2 is made using our own proprietary circuit design, comprising top-grade components and a custom-wound transformer, made specifically to our own design.
Every last detail of Sigma 2 has been carefully considered, right down to the superior grade British stainless steel mesh used for its grille, the precision-engineered metalwork and its uniquely designed shockmount.
Sigma 2 is a class act.
Sigma 2 captures suitably intimate results from vocals and spoken word to solo woodwind, solo strings and piano as well as guitar amps and saxophone too.
"Sigma captures performances with a special warmth and vibe that only vintage ribbons do. This is the new vintage standard!"
